The purpose of the Comprehensive Eviction Program (CEP) is to ensure that all eligible NJ households impacted by Covid-19 are knowledgeable about protections in place to avoid eviction and other services and resources available for help including assistance with utility arrears.
CARC staff will facilitate access to those services through the rental assistance application process as well as completing the self-certification forms necessary to be protected against eviction through 12/31/2021.
Eligible households at/below 120% of the area median income are protected and may receive help with arrears for the coverage period of 3/2020 through 8/31/2021.
Households at/below 80% of the AMI are protected and may receive help with arrears for the covered period of 3/2020 through 12/31/2021; and may also receive up to 3 months of rent moving forward.
